Portrait

For my digital images I took my camera to work with me, and despite the judgments and confusion from the people i work with, I collected pictures of the oven, the steel, and the food. I also decided to take numerous images of a select few of comics, along with records (yes I still listen to vinyls on a 50’s record player.) Lastly on the background you see a used chalkboard to avoid a boring and plain look, add distress and character. The images i scanned in were the noose and the toy bat mobile. The bat mobile was found in my garage after numerous moves from house to apartments to houses again, and sat in my vehicles from time to time to make it more mine. The noose was scanned in to ‘tie in things’ and to add again, to the distressed and used feel even though it looks fairly clean. I removed the colors to black and white to remove the look everything it just added and more to blend it a little bit. The piece is depressing while still having a sense of humor and quirkiness to it, it shows interests i have such as the music and comics, along with what I've been doing as far as work for the past few years along with elements i see every day like the chalkboard. I’m very proud of the work I've done on it and am looking forward to future projects.
